The howl of the Wolf is almost universally considered the call of the wild. Although I'm lucky enough to have a studio in an area where they have made a miraculous comeback, I still only average between 2-4 sightings a year. At this point in my life I've heard them howl less than 10 times, and I'm in "their world" a lot. Knowing that, you can imagine the thrill of not just seeing a howling wolf, but actually getting the shot! Considering all this elusive mystery I decided to use evening mist to shroud the subject. This is further enhanced by the illuminated clouds moments from obscuring the prominent moon. So one instant it's there, the next it vanishes, a complete parallel to the "Apparition's Song". |
