"The Right Choice"
acrylic on canvas 20x24 in.
Sold

This piece is about the close call we (U.S.A) almost had when Ben Franklin opted for the turkey as our national symbol rather than the magnificent eagle. I used a "Phoenix from the ashes" feel to emphasize the near miss, an almost Marvel comic hero-like ascent. Bright blues in and around her wing tips are used to depict the limitless heights that she can reach. The reason I picked a female is because they're normally up to a third larger than the males.
One could go on and on about the attributes of this breathtaking raptor, in other words I believe we made "The Right Choice".
